Hawaii 2011

Every couple years my parents gather the family and take us on a trip to one of our favorite places. Kona, Hawaii!! I am so grateful for these memories and my parents for making it a possibility. Jake made it on this trip which was SO fun! He already had made a great impression on the family but it was awesome to spend some quality time! We did so many cool things on the Big Island and have so many pictures! Close to 1,000 so I really had to narrow it down.. here are a few!
We took ALOT of couple pictures trying to get a good selection to put on display at the reception! Perfect scenery!!
This was our attempt at a sister picture down the slide (missing rach:(..) Lets just say it was an EPIC fail haha a couple bumped heads and a collision in the sand- & we didnt even get a decent picture out of it haha
Some random pictures with wonderful people!!

One of my favorite parts of the trip- One of the days we drove to a beautiful black sand beach!! it was really cool but you had to hike down to it. It was NOT easy. the best part? Even my sister Cait made the trip down/up and we were SO proud of her.
Picture of the grandkids before we trekked back up! The saddest part about this picture is that luke was sick, poor guy had thrown up and you can totally see it in his sad face. Beck was wonder mom and carried him up & down! The best part of this picture is bennerman, I don't know where he learned this pose but his arm isn't resting on anything haha I love it!
The nephews took it upon themselves to be the kissing police, they took that responsibility seriously and dane got in the way several times :)
We ate at so many good restaurants and I got to show Jake around one of my favorite places in the world!
On one of our last days we went to secluded beach that was beautiful!! Only a little bit into our stay it began to POUR!! we all took refuge, some in the warm water and some under towels and umbrellas :)

HAWAII was wonderful and I am so ready to go back :)
We missed the Uffens ALOT but still a memorable trip!
Thanks Mom and Dad!

Engagements!!

April started with taking our engagements! Although I now look back and say WE WERE SO PASTEY WHITE! and wish we would have taken them after Hawaii. the other regret I had was my roots!! BUT there are still some that I love :) The Shumates were our photographers and they also did our AMAZING bridals, I absolutely loved them!!
Here are some of the engagements...

& THIS is the one we sent out in our announcements :) which were beautifully done by my amazing sister! We chose this one cause it was different than the normal wedding announcement pictures & jake liked it!

Beginning of 2011!

January started out amazing :) Jake took me back to The Loft, the dance club we met at and proposed in the exact spot I almost ran him over! It was very sweet and I was so excited to finally make it official! We then went to Los Hermanos with the Browns to celebrate! The picture below isn't the best but its the first one I took of the ring in the bathroom at the restaurant and sent it to some of my family and friends :)
A few months later... my BEST came to visit me in the lovely town of Provo, we spent a few days at my apt then moved the party to Las Vegas to meet my new little niece, Quinn!

MEET QUINNERS :)

Cant imagine life without her! glad i got to see her when she was SO little, I couldn't stop holding and loving on her!

December 2010

December started out a little somber in the loss of my sweet Grandpa Shaw.. He was an amazing man who raised an amazing son in my father! He had the best sense of humor and he always wanted to hear me sing and I always wanted him to sing to me.."I was strolling thru the park one day..on the very merry month of may..." THAT was my favorite :) I loved him and miss him so much. It means so much to me that he was able to meet Jake and he grilled him about his intentions :) He approved and it meant the world to me that he got to meet my future husband! I love you Grandpa and I know you are singing your heart out in heaven, cant wait to see you again!
It was great to get together with the whole family and rejoice in such a wonderful man and all he accomplished in life!!

We then headed to Washington to spend Christmas/New Years in the PNW with family (missed Uffens) and friends!

The last little highlight of our trip was getting to celebrate Benners 1st birthday!! He is such a sweet little boy and has grown SOOOO much since then it is CRAZY! Britt is amazing and had made the theme of the party monkeys! Ben loved (not sure if he is still obsessed) his stuffed monkey and the party was so creative and fun :) (cups are only ONE cute detail)

Here is my picture with the birthday boy!! I remember the day you were born :) which is really good for me...

Catching up..Last few months of 2010 :)

OK so I am going to try this again... I think blogging is a responsibility that I took on when I became a Mrs... I have to succeed this time right? I have SOOOO much that has changed since October 2010 that it is really overwhelming haha so pictures are going to be random and I am skipping ALOT in order to catch up to now-2012. I am starting right after I last blogged.. October 2010.

Halloween!!
We started by carving pumpkins with the Heaps and ended with a last minute trip to Las Vegas to spend the 31st with our nieces! It was so fun!! Strawberry Shortcake and Tinker Bell (sp?) are pretty dang cute!!

November 2010!
I was lucky enough to make another trip to Las Vegas to see the Uffens! We played at the park, went wedding dress shopping and took oh-so-many photo booth pictures :) I tried to limit em!

Love these girls! So weird to see all these pictures when there was no Quinn!

M.I.A

I know i have been MIA in the blogging world or completely non-existent but i thought i would do an update :) Since the last post, A LOT has changed. I am too overwhelmed/lazy to catch up on my life since 2008 so i will just begin with this this semester, Fall 2010.

Jake and I have created a ritual before every home game, the week of september 4th he warned me that i needed to be careful because whatever we did that week we would do every week, and he was serious. We start on thursday night, having a picnic (turkey sammies, chips, drinks from crest) at the field, in the grassy area behind the cougar statue. Here are a few pics from our picnics, 2 so far :)

The highlight of my september was having some of the family come for the BYU vs UW game, i am SO happy the family has welcomed Jake so well and the kids especially love him. Jake took the family on a little tour of the facility. Some cute pics from our weekend...
.

This last weekend Jake and I got to go to General Conference, thanks to Bishop Shaw :) It was a wonderful session and we are so grateful we got to go.

Here are some randoms we took on Saturday night waiting for our double date... :)

AND because those who will look at this blog (my family) have probably seen ALL these pictures i decided to throw in a new one! I am going to try to keep up with this and post regularly, no promises. but this is a good start i think :)
